Alumni Association Scholarship



To provide scholarships for San Marcos Alumni enrolled in a degree or certificate program in at least 6 units. Applicants must have graduated from CSUSM with an undergraduate degree.

Assistance League of Inland North County Scholarship



Undergraduate nursing students - sophomore, junior, or senior. Full-time student. Demonstrate financial need. Scholarship not renewable. Award maximum $2,000 per student.





Bosworth AVID Scholarship



Scholarships are awarded to students who were enrolled in the AVID Program in High School, high financial need and have overcome obstacles.





Bree Tinney Women's Studies Scholarship



To provide scholarships to students majoring or minoring in Women's Studies





Brenna Bray Robe Memorial Scholarship Fund



Scholarship for grad student in MS-Speech Language Pathology Program. Excellent academic standing. Financial need is optional, but may be considered in award process. Preference to those who demonstrate professional interest and passion in alternative communication for children with communication disorder





Candie S. Halstead Scholarship



The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in CSUSM. Students should demonstrate financial need. Preference should be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to helping others. To be expendable over the next 10 years at $1,000 per year.





Carmelina Reyes Scholarship



The Carmelina Reyes Scholarship, a.k.a "Pita's Scholarship" supports students who attended and graduated from Vista High School, or the successor institution providing a high school diploma to the Vista region (I.e. residents of Vista, Oceanside or Carlsbad), who are the first generation in their immediate families to attend a four-year university and who demonstrate unmet financial need. Recipients are eligible to continue to receive support so long as they continue to make normal academic progress toward their degree defined for these purposes as a 3.0 grade­point average at CSUSM.





Carol Cox Scholarship Endowment



Scholarships are awarded to students who are resuming their education after an extended break and demonstrate financial need.





Carolyn R. Mahoney Math Scholarship



To provide scholarships to students who are mathematic majors





CEHHS Master of Public Health Program Health Equity Scholarship Fund



Scholarship awarded to students in CEHHS MPH program each year who demonstrate a commitment to upholding principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and who are committed to addressing health disparities through service and/or research and who meet a min 3.25 GPA requirement. Scholarship is offered to incoming MPH students and is renewable if student continues to meet original scholarship criteria. Preference will be given to students who are working on have worked as first-responders or frontline public health workers during the current COVID-19 pandemic





Charles J. Heller, M.D. Scholarship



A merit and financial need based scholarship for students enrolled full-time as undergraduates only. Any grade level, 3.2 or higher GPA. Students must demonstrate an interest in going into the medical field or health related fields. Students in the pre-health society may qualify





Christopher L. Whitman Memorial Scholarship



To provide scholarship support to students who are majors in College of Business Admin with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has moderate and interest in music, sports, and/or charity work. Scholarship for incoming freshman with a new student selected each year





Clare and Wally Taibleson Presidential Scholarship



Scholarship will be a merit based scholarship awarded to a student(s) with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in CSUSM

To assess the campus academic culture and civic mission and develop specific activities in order to more fully realize the civic mission of education





Crankstart Scholarship



This scholarship is for scholarship recipients who meet the following requirements: transferred from a California community college within the last 4 years; eligible for need-based financial aid; undergraduate level pursing their first baccalaureate degree.





CSTEM Advisory Council Scholarship



Named in honor of the volunteer board that provides leadership in advocacy, access, and development for the college - will provide scholarship support for undergraduate students who are majoring in a CSTEM department who demonstrate financial need. It is the donor’s preference for this scholarship to be awarded to first-generation college students.

Deanna DeLaney Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship for students with major or minor in sociology. 3.0 GPA, financial need, number and amount of scholarship at discretion of the University





Dorothy Igei Endowed Scholarship



Scholarship to be awarded in the amount of two $1K scholarships per year. Preference to be awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need and who are single parents with a dependant child(ren), and without dependant financial awards.





Dr. A. Sandy Parsons Pathways Graduate Scholarship



Dr. A. Sandy Parsons Pathways Graduate Scholarship Endowment awarded to at least (2) graduate students annually: 1) in School of Education Masters of Arts in Special Education, pref to Extensive Support Needs Credential Pathway & 2) in Master of Public Health program in Global Health, pref to those in thesis option. Minimum $1,000 award per student, with initial $500 as scholarship and second $500 as award.





Dr. Ernest O. and Ella J. Thedinga Scholarship



Five scholarships for entering freshman. 3.0 high school GPA (B average). Student must have graduated from a San Diego County High School.





Dr. Jerry Sepinwall Dream Scholarship



Merit and Financial Need based scholarship to support those students who are AB540 students, who have submitted an Affidavit, 2.0 GPA, undergraduate students only, any major. Preference to first generation students





Dr. Joel C. Grinolds Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship to students majoring is Public Health, 3.0 GPA. Must carry at least 12 units. Preference to those with physical or learning disabilities





Dr. Mark Baldwin Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship awarded to students majoring in a multiple subject, single subject, middle level credential program, or education specialist & multi subject credential program. Must demonstrate financial need. Not renewable.





Dr. Norma Baer Maderazo Scholarship



The Dr. Norma Baer Maderazo Scholarship Endowment is named in honor of Dr. Norma Maderazo. Scholarship will support undergraduate students majoring in STEM fields, with preference to support STEM Summer Scholars, as long as that program is active.





Dr. Russell Low and Carolyn Hesse-Low Nursing Scholarship



Scholarship to be awarded to students enrolled in either traditional BSN program or LVN to BSN program at CEHHS, enrolled in a min of 12 units/semester, demonstrate financial need, first in their family to attend four-year college. Preference to students who are either a single parent, currently employed, and demonstrate a commitment to upholding principles of DEI. Scholarship may be renewable contingent upon availability of funds. Students may re-apply for consideration each year based on an annual assessment of need, students should continue to meet the criteria.





Earnest W. Porta, Sr. Chemical Biology Scholarship



Supports an annual scholarship for five years, of at least $500/year for graduate students. Must be accepted in the Masters of Chemistry Program. Completed their Undergrad in either Chemistry, Biochemistry





Edison Wildfire Science Scholars



The Edison Wildfire Science Scholars Program would directly benefit 6 to 10 students working towards their degree in Wildfire Science.





Edmond Kwan Scholarship



To provide scholarship support to students in the College of Business Administration who are majors in Finance





Educational Opportunity Program Student Success Scholarship



Funds used to award 8 - $500 scholarships to 2 freshman, 2 sophomore, 2 junior, and 2 seniors per year.





Edwin D. and Michela A. Fuller Study Abroad Scholarship



Two scholarships for students enrolled in approved study abroad program.





Elaine and Erwin Landau Memorial Scholarship



To provide scholarship support to students with both merit-based and financial need. Students will be required to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, major in Chemistry or Electrical/Chemical engineering





Epstein Family Student-Veteran Scholarship



Scholarship for student-veterans with unmet financial need or who have exhausted GI Bill benefits.





Ernest and Leslie Zomalt International Education Fund Schol



Funds will support qualified CSUSM undergraduate students engaged in international educational exchange programs and/or international educational service activities offered by CSU, CSU San Marcos, or other accredited study abroad and/or service abroad programs. Reasonable expenses for advertisement and implementation of program are also allowable





Estelle Wiener Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship for students with 3.5 GPA, financial need and enrolled in Master's in Social Work program





Fenstermaker STEM Scholars



The Fenstermaker STEM Scholars Endowment, named in honor of Lawrence E. and Neva B. Fenstermaker, will provide scholarship support for undergraduate students who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, and math majors. Donor prefers for scholarship to be awarded to STEM majors in the STEM Summer Scholars Program.





Frank D. Hernandez Scholarship



A merit and financial need based scholarship for students enrolled full-time as undergraduates only. Any grade level, 3.2 or higher GPA. Students must demonstrate an interest in Native American or Mexican American causes, cultures, communities, and personal experience or family history in farm labor





Gala Student Success Scholarship



Purpose is to support student success renewable scholarships to be awarded to high achieving students and/or first generation college students.





Gen 1



Funds for first generation pre-business and business majors (undergraduate). The intention of this scholarship is to spend down the balance of the fund in a timely manner, preferably over two years with the first scholarship awarded in fall 2025. Scholarship amounts and total number of students awarded is at the discretion of the financial aid office.

Scholarships for undergraduate students, full time enrollment. Must have financial need and at least a 3.35 GPA

Continuing nursing students who demonstrate need or who are working while pursuing their undergrad or graduate degrees, full or part-time

Jeng Family Scholarship for Chemistry and Biochemistry



The Jeng Family Endowed Scholarship for Chemistry and Biochemistry will provide scholarship support for undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry. GPA requirement is a minimum of 3.0, with preference to students who demonstrate financial need. Renewable if student continues to meet original criteria. In future years, university may determine amount and number of awards.





Jeng Family Scholarship for Computer Science



Awarded up to three students, at $1,000 minimum per student each year who are Computer Science majors at CSUSM. GPA requirement is a minimum of 3.5. Preference should be given to students who also have financial need.





Jeremy Mancilla Scholarship



To support a freshman who attended a San Marcos high school with service to Latino community.





Jim Hamerly CoBA Student Success Scholarship



Scholarship awarded to undergraduate students majoring in a College of Business Administration degree each year who demonstrate financial need and having a minimum 3.0GPA. Scholarship is renewable if student continues to meet original scholarship criteria. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in CSUSM.





Jim Kuden Scholarship



To provide scholarships for students in CoBA, preferred interest in entrepreneurship. Must have 3.0 GPA, have financial need, enrolled in at least 12 units (Ugrad) and 9 units (graduate)





John Richard Storey Scholarship



Scholarship for students who demonstrate financial need with average academic achievement. To benefit both full and part-time undergraduate or graduate students





Kuntz Laughlin Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship awarded to student who is identified as an ACE Scholar and/or who self identifies as a former foster youth. Must be enrolled in CSUSM.





Leonard and Jean Evers Scholarship



Scholarship criteria: US Citizen, 3.2 GPA, high financial need, and participation in community service





Louis V. Messner Memorial Scholarship



Provide scholarships support to students who major in Accounting. Must be Junior, demonstrate financial need, GPA of 3.0+. Preference given to students involved in community service.





Lt. Colonel AJ Pack Veterans Scholarship



Scholarship for veterans of any branch of military, financial need, 3.0 GPA. Preference to those who have been in combat.





Lucas Dunn Memorial Scholarship



Eligible students must be accepted for study abroad in France, must demonstrate strong commitment to the study of French Language and culture through academic coursework and extracurricular activities, must have completed French 201 or higher and must be in good academic standing.





Madison Dexter Howe Scholarship



Scholarship support to students who are Political Science or Economic Majors. Not need based. Seniors with a 3.25 GPA

One undergraduate nursing student - sophomore, junior, or senior. Full-time student. Based on merit who demonstrates leadership and mentorship qualities. Award maximum $2,000 per student. Scholarship not renewable.





Matthew Lehmann Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded to one student each year who is a Computer Science major. Students must be enrolled in CSUSM and in their junior year or above.





Megan O’Brien Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship to support undergraduate students majoring in Psychology or Child and Adolescent Development with a preference to first-generation students.





Nordson BUILDS Partnership Scholarship



Scholarship will support postsecondary students majoring in a field that supports a career in manufacturing, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics or business. 





Norviel Accounting Scholarship



Scholarship to be awarded to at least one student in the CSUSM College of Business Administration Accounting Option. The scholarship may be renewable if the student continues to meet original scholarship criteria at the discretion of the university. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in California State University San Marcos.





Osher Scholarship



To provide scholarship support to Osher students, with priority given to returning Osher scholarship recipients. Students at undergraduate level and pursuing their first baccalaureate degree, and are transferring or have transferred from a California Community College with at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units, and are entering or entered CSUSM at the junior level or above.

•are at the undergraduate level and pursuing their first baccalaureate degree.

Partnership for Student Success - Valley Center/Pauma Scholarship Quasi



To provide scholarships support to incoming freshman enrolling at CSUSM. These students will be in the Partnership for Student Success Program in conjunction with Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District and CSUSM.





Patricia Colvig Wildfire Science Scholarship



Students must be enrolled in the CSUSM Wildfire Science degree program, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, resident of LA County, FT student, and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship is not renewable. One scholarship of $2500 will be awarded to one student





Peggy Adams Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship for re-entry student who is overcoming obstacles (single parent, debilitating illness, divorce, and/or loss of employment)





Presidential Scholarship Endowment



To provide scholarships to incoming freshman who attended a California High School.





President's Circle Scholarship



Any major. Two $1,000 scholarships. 3.5 GPA. Ugrad, Grad, or credential students. EL students not eligible.





Raie Callahan Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded to student(s) majoring / minoring in sociology each year with a preference to those that have transferred from community college. This scholarship is renewable if the student(s) continues to meet original scholarship criteria. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in the California State University San Marcos.





Ram Lal Seekri Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded each year to a student(s) who demonstrate financial need and whose essay embodies the values of generosity, service to others and education for all. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in CSUSM.





Randy Woodward Scholarship



College of Science and Math major 2.5 min GPA, unmet financial need, preference to a single parent. Scholarship renewable if student continues to meet established criteria.





Reid Student Achievement Award in Mathematics

Two (2) $1,500 scholarships awarded to students in an approved study abroad program





Robert and Catherine Goldsmith Engineering Scholarship



Support for undergraduate students majoring in Engineering who demonstrate financial need. It is the donor's preference for this scholarship to be renewable if student (s) continue to meet original scholarship criteria. The scholarship recipient (s) will be enrolled in CSUSM.





Robert H. & Catherine H. Goldsmith MBA Scholarship



Provide scholarships to students who are enrolled in the CSUSM MBA Program. Priority to students who also completed their Undergraduate degree at CSUSM





San Marcos Grange Scholarship



Scholarships to support students enrolled in College of Education, Health and Human Services with financial need, enrolled full time, for undergraduates only. Must have 2.0 GPA or higher. US citizens, preference for California residents





School of Nursing General Scholarship

Sheila and Gerald Brown Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded to either FT/PT student(s) in nursing each year, who meet 3.0 GPA, and who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable if the student(s) continues to meet original scholarship criteria. The scholarship recipient will be enrolled in CSUSM.





Steve Livesay Scholarship



Merit and Financial Need based scholarship, enrolled either full-time(12 units), both graduate and undergraduate, FR, SO, JR, SR, Credential, Graduate, or EL, min 3.0 GPA, any major. Preference to AVID students in high school

Provide financial resources that students may use to access the services they need to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

Scholarship support to undergraduates with a 3.0 GPA, financial need and full time enrollment

Scholarship support for students with military status.





Susan A Reierson Scholarship Fund



Scholarship to support qualifying CSUSM students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the CSUSM Office of FA and Scholarships. Preference will be given first to undergraduate students majoring in nursing who are first in their family to attend college and second, to undergraduate students in healthcare related majors who are first in their family attend college.





Sustal’s Want Education for Everyone Today Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded to two students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the CSUSM Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The students must be enrolled in Applied Physics. The full scholarship will be awarded in the beginning of the semester not to exceed $2,500 per student.





Suzanne Farwell Memorial Arts Scholarship



Undergrad-any grade level. Must have some form of financial aid. At least 12 units/semester. 3.0 GPA min. Single (head of household) preferred. Fall distribution. Theatre, Music, or Dance major.





Sweeny Family Scholarship



The proceeds from the Carol Ann Nobel/Laura J. Sweeney Endowed Scholarship are to be awarded to a community college transfer student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The scholarship is renewable so long as the student remains academically qualified and may be used for a post baccalaureate degree at CSU San Marcos. Preference may be given to a single parent or child of a single parent.





Swift Scholarship



Students who are admitted to a SWIFT Health Program at CSU San Marcos (accelerated, 3-year B.A. in Human Development or B.S. in Public Health), may also submit a request for a SWIFT Scholarship. Scholarship awards will be made in Spring semester, and students will be notified by email/phone prior to the May intent to enroll deadline.

Teichert-Pineiro Scholarship



Scholarship for students majoring in Spanish. Award amount to make meaningful financial impact. Preference to re-entry student and/or first generation 3.0 GPA. Maintain GPA in order to reapply.





The Dolores Huerta Scholarship Fund



Scholarship will be awarded to at least one student in CSUSM's College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), a student demonstrating migrant or seasonal farm work background. The Scholarship is not renewable. The schol recipient will be enrolled at CSUSM full-time. The recipient will be chosen in accordance with approved university policies and procedures.





The J. Douglas and Marian R. Pardee Scholarship



To provide scholarship support to students within the following colleges: CHABBS, CoBA, CEHHS, CSM and Transfer/Returning students. 10 awards at $2,000 each per college ($100,000 per year).





The Keifer Family LGBTQ+ Scholarship



Scholarship to be awarded to at least one student each year who demonstrates a commitment to build a strong sense of community, inclusiveness, and belonging among other students and community members of the LGBTQ+ community with a preference to students who demonstrate financial need.





The Lesko Family Scholarship



To provide scholarship support to students in the School of Nursing who are US citizens, enrolled full-time, financial need. Available to all grade levels. 3.0 GPA for initial award and for renewal awards 2.75 GPA





The Major General Anthony L. Jackson Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded to at least one full-time, undergraduate student-veteran or active duty military student(s) with first preference to students majoring in History, Social Sciences or the Arts. Recipient must demonstrate financial need. Scholarship is renewable if the student(s) continues to meeting original scholarship criteria.





The Political Science Senior Experience Scholarship Fund



Scholarship awarded to three students per semester who demonstrate financial need as determined FA. Enrolled in PSCI 494B and maintain a GPA greater than 2.7 within the PSCI major. $750 per student





The President Karen S. Haynes Music Scholarship



Scholarship to honor former Pres Haynes' commitment to students and educational excellence. Four awards annually at approximately $1,000 each (based on endowment performance and Foundation guidelines), demonstrate financial need, full-time student enrolled in the music program, preference will be given to students based on merit





The Raquelle 'Kelly' Myers' Tribal Justice Scholarship



The Raquelle 'Kelly' Myers' Tribal Justice Scholarship was established in memory of Raquelle “Kelly” Myers (Pomo), Executive Director of the National Indian Justice Center. Kelly was dedicated to the improvement of justice in Indian Country, and public awareness of Native American history and culture. She was a Tribal Judge, educator, legal scholar, and defender of tribal justice. She was an incredible advocate for Indian Country.





The Susan Mitchell Scholarship



Scholarship will be awarded each year to one financial aid applicant who is a former foster youth, ACE Scholar, CHAFFEE eligible that demonstrates financial need.





The Thomas M. Wahlund Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship for students majoring in the sciences, priority to Biological Sciences. Undergraduate or graduate. 2.5 GPA, financial need, transcript and three letters of reference required. Demonstrated potential to succeed in academics





The Wagner Music Scholarship



5 students majoring in music will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarships are merit-based, non-renewable, and distributed over the focused areas of: performance, composition, and music technology. 





Tosh Nomura Memorial Scholarship



Junior 3.5 GPA, full time enrollment. Renewable senior year if: 3.35 GPA, good academic standing, must complete lower division pre-business core courses within the first semester of admittance. General scholarship application submitted.





University Ball - Science Major Scholarship



To provide scholarships for students who are majoring in Science and have ae 3.0 GPA. Financial need and minimum enrollment of 6 units are required.





Walter Family Scholarship



Scholarship open to undergrad and graduate students majoring in Psychology with preference given to students with an interest in career counseling or psychometrics.





Weston Scholarship



Students must demonstrate financial need to qualify
